Q. I have to perfect an appeal. What do I do?

A. Call Appellate Partners, LLC at (516) 563-9995.
Place your appeal into our capable hands and leave all the
figure-outing to us.

Q. What is my deadline to perfect an appeal?
A. Your appeal must be perfected within six (6) months from the date of your Notice of Appeal. If you need to seek an extension, please see Question 5.

Q. I have been served with a Record on Appeal and Appellant's Brief.
When is my Respondent's Brief due?
A. Your Respondent's Brief is be due thirty (30) days from the service of the Record/Appendix and Appellant's Brief. In the First Department, parties shall adhere to the court's published terms calendar. Please do not hesitate to contact us at (516) 563-9995 so we may calculate your exact due date.

Q. I have been served with a Respondent's Brief. When is my Reply Brief due?
A. Your Reply Brief is due ten (10) days from the service of the Respondent's Brief. In the First Department, parties shall adhere to the court's published terms calendar. Please do not hesitate to contact us at (516) 563-9995 so we may calculate your exact due date.

Q. I need to request an extension to perfect my appeal. What should I do?
A. If you need to seek an extension, you may ask for one sixty (60) day extension and another thirty (30) day extension by letter application or stipulation. Any further extension requests shall be made by motion.

Q. I am a respondent and need more time to file a brief. What should I do?
A. You may file for two separate thirty (30) day extensions by letter application or stipulation. Any further extension requests shall be made by motion.
7.
Q. I need more time to file a Reply Brief. What should I do?
A. You may file for two separate ten (10) day extensions by letter application or stipulation. Any further extension requests shall be made by motion.
